American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg - Urology/Nephrology position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license.

• Acute care hospital setting - 562-bed Level I Trauma Center with Magnet designation
• Medical Surgical unit specializing in Urology/Nephrology with a 25-bed unit and an average daily census of 23
• Night shift: 4x12 or 3x12 (18:45–07:15)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to other Medical Surgical units as needed
• May work Charge Nurse duties as needed
• Charting via Cerner (experience required)

• Active IL RN license currently in hand or actively in the application process
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Med/Surg and telemetry unit experience required
• Remote telemetry monitoring and Rapid Response Team experience required
• Genitourinary/renal experience required, including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• IV therapy skills required: blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs
• Heparin management experience required
• Respiratory care experience required: chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and portable oxygen
• Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac required
• Cerner EMR experience required

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply; a strong Med/Surg foundation with 2+ years of experience is expected
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days for the assignment; all time off requests must be submitted upfront
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable
• Parking is available on-site at no cost via a permit obtained during orientation
