Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy medical-surgical unit.
• Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care activities accurately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies, escalating as needed.
• Manage and maintain IV therapies, including port and central line care, and administer chemotherapy per protocol.
• Ensure safety and compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in hand or in application process.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Experience with IV therapy and infusion skills, including port access and medication administration.
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts comfortably.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology experience, including chemotherapy administration.
• Chemotherapy certification (preferred but not required).
• OCN and ONS/ONCC certification (preferred).
• Strong charting experience with Cerner system.

• On-call is not required.
• Floating within hospital or nearby affiliates is mandatory.
• Local candidates are accepted.
• Shift availability: 3 days per week, days only, 12 hours each.
• No on-site certifications needed beyond basic BLS; chemotherapy certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Must complete all compliance documentation within the designated timelines.
