Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma center position in Illinois, requiring at least three years of OR and trauma experience.

Job Details

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute care, Magnet-designated Level I trauma hospital,

• Assignment involves all service lines except cardiovascular (CV) surgery,

• 23 operating rooms with diverse surgical case types including bariatrics, general surgery, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, urology, and trauma,

• Patient populations include bariatric, emergency/trauma, neuro, ortho, plastics, general surgery, transplant, and urology,

• Day shift:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (3x12s, weekends required),

• On-call required approximately once per week,

• Rare floating within skill set may be required to meet facility needs,

• Uses Cerner EMR; experience preferred,

• Scrubs are provided for this role,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand or in process,

• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required,

• Required certifications: BLS; CNOR and CST preferred,

• Level I trauma OR experience required,

• General OR and trauma experience required,

• Documented experience in bariatric, general, neuro, ortho, plastics, transplant, trauma, and urology surgical cases as listed,

• Must have experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables,

• Experience in code response, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling, time out protocols, and urinary catheterization required,

• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to apply,

• First-time travelers are not accepted,

• Responsibilities include preparing and circulating during complex surgical procedures and emergency cases,

• Work as part of an interdisciplinary surgical team in a high acuity, fast-paced environment,

• Parking permit provided at no cost; form completed during orientation,

• All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by the manager,

• Orientation and training provided at the start of the assignment,
