The Registered Nurse will work in an IMC/Stepdown/PCU setting, providing skilled nursing care to patients. This role involves monitoring telemetry, managing drips (excluding titration), and responding to emergencies. The RN will collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in an IMC/Stepdown/PCU setting.
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias.
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration).
- Administer medications and perform procedural sedation.
- Provide care for ventilated patients and manage tracheostomies.
- Perform wound care and manage wound vacs.
- Insert foley catheters.
- Provide feeding tube care and management.
- Provide pre/post hemodialysis management.
- Manage arterial lines and central lines.
- Administer blood products and perform phlebotomy.
- Provide care for patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions.
- Respond to rapid response team activations.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills &
Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in IL
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- BLS certification
- NIH certification
- Telemetry experience
- Neuro Stepdown experience
- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, and TR Band
- Feeding tube care and management
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
- Renal failure experience
- Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs
- Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration, PCA, Procedural Sedation Administration
- Craniotomy, CVA, Pre/Post neurosurgery, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic Brain injury experience
- Ortho Trauma, Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements experience
- Skin grafts, Surgical drains experience
- Care of Ventilated Patient, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management experience
- Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac experience
Preferred Skills &
Certifications:
- ACLS certification
- Cerner experience
- Teaching hospital experience
- Level I Trauma experience
Special Considerations:
- Will work every other weekend.
- Will float as needed within scope.
- RTO ideally no more than 5 days.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours. If Client cancels more hours than permitted by this section, Client will be billed for any shifts or portions thereof cancelled in excess of this section. If Candidates are placed on-call in lieu of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 or 4x12 Day shifts )
- Able to accommodate 4x12s if candidate prefers
- Block schedules may be discussed with the manager.
