Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Oncology

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Oncology/Med-Surg position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, with chemotherapy administration skills required.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital setting - Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds,

• Oncology/Med-Surg unit with an average daily census of 24 patients across 24 beds,

• Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hours (18:45-07:15),

• Every other weekend required,

• Floating within scope required as needed to meet facility needs,

• No on-call requirements,

• Charting via Cerner,

• Free parking with permit obtained during orientation,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand or actively in the application process,

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required,

• BLS certification required,

• Chemotherapy certification not required, though Chemo Cert, OCN, and ONS/ONCC certifications are preferred,

• Chemotherapy skills required: administration (IV push, continuous infusion, oral), body fluid handling post-chemo, monitoring, cytotoxic spill management/disposal, and recognition/communication of abnormal lab values,

• IV therapy/infusion skills required: accessing and managing ports, central line care and blood draw, PICC line care, starting IVs, blood/blood product administration, and administration of coagulation factors, antifungals, and antivirals,
