Salary: USD $31.81 per hour with a maximum of USD $45.21 per hour. Full Time Day Shift, Monday - Friday. No weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities. Schedule options: 8:00 am–4:30 pm (five 8‑hour days) or 6:00 am–4:30 pm (four 10‑hour days).
The Pre‑Anesthesia Clinic Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in preparing patients for surgery through comprehensive preoperative evaluation and coordination of care. The RN is responsible for reviewing medical records, conducting pre‑anesthesia risk assessments, and collaborating closely with anesthesia providers and the interdisciplinary perioperative team to ensure patients are medically optimized for their procedures.
The registered nurse is responsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process. They will provide age‑appropriate care, participate in research when appropriate, incorporate evidence‑based findings into clinical practice, contribute to quality improvement processes, and adhere to the relevant missions, visions, values, ANA Code of Ethics, and the Illinois Nursing Act.

Licensure / Certification / Registry- Licensed as RN in the State of Illinois.
- Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience; perioperative or pre‑admission testing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records and clinical information systems.
- Must be able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient, perform IV insertion and IM injections, and withstand prolonged periods of standing.
- Knowledge of environmental working conditions including exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue, contagious diseases, and potentially hazardous materials.
- ACLS certification within three months of hire.
