Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens Travel Nursing Job – Night Shift – Springfield, IL

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2050
• Patient Population:
  Adults & Geriatrics (Avg. Daily Census: 21)
• EMR:
  Cerner
• Scrub Color:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of application
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or MS/Tele nursing experience
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, PCA)
• Proficient in respiratory care (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy management, ABG interpretation)
• Skilled in isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac usage
• Ability to float within scope to meet hospital needs
• Must be able to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg unit
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including blood product administration and central line care
• Monitor and manage patients with respiratory needs, including chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and tracheostomies
• Perform phlebotomy, wound care, and utilize wound vacs as needed
• Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Float to other nursing units within scope as required
• Document patient care using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Provide patient and family education and support
