Overview
We re looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Springfield, IL. The right RN should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
Responsibilities- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
- Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of the patient.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by the physician.
- BLS, ACLS, 1 Year
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
Med Surgical Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RN should be able to lift 20 pounds easily. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds. Work in a fast-paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
