Based in Springfield, IL, the Council’s programs aim to help youth develop the attributes needed to lead constructive and impactful lives.
Role DescriptionThe STEM Director is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Springfield, IL. The STEM Director will oversee the planning, development, and execution of STEM‑related programs to enrich youth development. Responsibilities include designing program curricula, organizing STEM events, training volunteers, and fostering partnerships with local schools, organizations, and experts. The role also involves managing resources, budgeting for STEM activities, and ensuring alignment with the mission and goals of the Abraham Lincoln Council.
Qualifications- Program development and curriculum design skills, with experience in STEM education or youth development.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to plan and oversee events, initiatives, and training sessions.
- Effective communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to work with volunteers, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of budgeting and resource management to support program planning and execution.
- Proficiency in relevant technologies and tools related to STEM education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM fields, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in youth programs or scouting organizations is an advantage.
