Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager in Truss Manufacturing to oversee the full scope of plant operations within a structural wood component manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for production performance, scheduling, dispatch coordination, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and overall operational workflow. The Operations Manager will play a key role in aligning production, project timelines, and customer orders to ensure efficient plant performance and high-quality output.
Position OverviewThe Operations Manager will lead daily plant operations, ensuring production schedules, order flow, and project timelines are executed effectively. This role requires strong organizational skills, hands‑on leadership, and the ability to coordinate across departments including design, sales, and delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and brings a process‑driven mindset focused on efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities For The Operations Manager- Oversee all plant operations including production workflow, staffing, and facility performance
- Manage production scheduling to align with incoming orders and project timelines
- Coordinate dispatch operations to ensure accurate and on‑time delivery of completed orders
- Monitor and assist with order flow from intake through production and delivery
- Support pricing coordination by working with sales and estimating teams to ensure accurate project execution
- Lead project management efforts for truss packages, ensuring timelines and customer expectations are met
- Manage inventory control including lumber, plates, and production materials to maintain efficient stock levels
- Oversee equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime
- Supervise and develop production personnel while promoting accountability and safety
- Conduct quality control reviews to maintain production accuracy and consistency
- Identify operational improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Collaborate with design, sales, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operational communication
- Assist on the production floor when needed to support workflow and team performance
- Previous experience in truss manufacturing or the lumber and building materials industry required
- Proven experience overseeing plant operations or production environments
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a manufacturing setting
- Understanding of production scheduling, dispatch coordination, and inventory management
- Experience working with project timelines and order flow within manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance processes and production workflow optimization
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
- Manufacturing environment requiring regular movement throughout the plant
- Occasional lifting and interaction with production equipment
- Fast‑paced setting focused on teamwork, efficiency, and safety

PayStarting pay is $80,000/yr or higher DOE
