Position SummaryThe Branch Manager will lead and grow a regional branch, overseeing operations, staff, financial performance, safety, and customer relationships. Ensure successful delivery of electrical projects from estimating through closeout while maintaining union labor relations and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all branch operations: scheduling, resource allocation, materials, equipment, and site logistics.
- Lead business development and client relationship management; pursue and secure new work.
- Oversee and perform estimating and pre-construction support for bid strategy, pricing, and scope review.
- Control branch P&L: set and meet revenue, margin, and productivity targets; manage budgets and forecasts.
- Recruit, mentor, and supervise supervisors, foremen, project managers, and administrative staff.
- Ensure workforce planning and maintain positive relations with the local IBEW and contractors’ associations.
- Coordinate with estimators, engineers, subcontractors, field personnel, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, local codes, and safety standards. Conduct safety meetings and audits.
- Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Implement company policies, reporting, and KPI tracking; present performance to senior management.
- Conduct site visits to monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to project plans.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment in coordination with purchasing teams.
- Resolve project-related issues, delays, or technical problems promptly.
- Ensure timely project closeout including documentation, inspections, and customer handoff.
- 7+ years in electrical contracting with progressive leadership experience; 3+ years managing a branch or large operations.
- Proven P&L responsibility and ability to manage budgets, cost controls, and forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of union labor practices (IBEW/NECA), collective bargaining implications, and work rules.
- Experience with commercial/industrial electrical projects, estimating, project scheduling, and change management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project) and construction documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Applicants should have completed at least one of the below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Project Management Professional or similar certification
- Primarily office-based with regular travel to job sites
- May require occasional evening or weekend work depending on project needs.
- Must be able to navigate active job sites and access various areas safely, with or without reasonable accomodation
