Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Work Location: Hybrid(2 Days per Week)/On-Location, if Remote within the continental US)
Role OverviewThe Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, governance, and execution oversight for complex, multi-phase initiatives spanning discovery and migration execution. This role requires strong project control discipline, executive-level communication skills, and the ability to manage risk, scope, schedule, and stakeholder expectations across cross-functional teams. The Project Manager will serve as the central point of accountability for schedule integrity, milestone delivery, and adherence to contractual and governance requirements.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive, integrated project plan covering all phases, including discovery, design, and migration execution.
- Define detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), task dependencies, resource assignments, milestones, and critical path activities.
- Coordinate activities across multiple work streams and teams to ensure alignment and timely execution.
- Facilitate weekly project status meetings, track action items, and ensure accountability for deliverables.
- Monitor progress against the approved baseline schedule and proactively address schedule variances to ensure on-time milestone delivery.
Risk & Issue Management
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive project risk register aligned with enterprise risk management standards.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize project risks using probability and impact analysis.
- Develop and implement mitigation and contingency strategies, including proactive buffer management.
- Monitor risk triggers and escalation thresholds, escalating issues to executive sponsors as required.
- Track risk resolution and continuously update risk posture throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate weekly status reports to project sponsors and senior leadership.
- Communicate schedule changes, risks, and impacts to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through structured communication and evidence-based reporting.
- Facilitate informed decision-making processes, including evaluations and recommendations for target platform selection.
- Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Scope & Change Control
- Enforce scope boundaries as defined in the Statement of Work (SOW) and approved project charter.
- Manage and document change requests in accordance with the formal change control process.
- Assess impacts of proposed changes on schedule, cost, resources, and risk.
- Ensure that out-of-scope requests are properly documented, evaluated, and deferred to future phases when appropriate.
- Maintain strict alignment to agreed-upon deliverables, timelines, and governance standards.
Key Deliverables
Project Schedule & Work Plan
A detailed, integrated project schedule including:
- Task-level assignments and ownership
- Milestone dates and phase gates
- Critical path analysis
- Resource allocation and dependency mapping
- Ongoing weekly tracking of actual progress against the approved baseline schedule.
Weekly Status Reports
Consolidated weekly status reporting that includes:
- Summary of completed and upcoming activities
- Key accomplishments and blockers
- Issues requiring sponsor or leadership attention
- Updated risk register entries
- Contingency buffer consumption tracking
- RAG (Red/Amber/Green) status indicators for schedule, scope, and risk
Risk Management Log
A comprehensive risk management log containing:
- Identified risks with probability and impact scoring
- Mitigation and contingency strategies
- Defined trigger conditions and escalation paths
- Ongoing tracking of risk resolution and residual risk
Project Charter – Execution Phase
A forward-looking project charter for the migration execution phase, including:
- Recommended execution timeline and phase sequencing
- Resource and staffing requirements
- High-level budget estimates
- Defined success criteria and performance metrics
