The Director or Senior Director for Access and Equity & Title IX Coordinator reports to the Vice Chancellor, Finance & Administration. The role develops, administers, and evaluates policies and programs that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; ensures compliance with federal and state civil‑rights regulations; serves as the Title IX, Title VI, ADA/504 Coordinator;
Equal Employment Opportunity Officer; and Aff. Action Officer; and advises university administration on related campus issues and initiatives.
The Director or Senior Director for Access and Equity Office (AEO) and Title IX Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and federal civil‑rights regulations, preventing discrimination, and investigating complaints. The leader of the AEO directs programs, policies, and procedures that foster equal opportunity and non‑discrimination across the campus.
Duties and Responsibilities- Compliance: Ensure adherence to Title IX, EEO, and other federal regulations, state civil‑rights requirements, and all applicable laws.
- Education and Research: Train students, faculty, and staff on Title IX obligations; raise awareness of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; and conduct special projects and studies related to the office’s mandate.
- Reporting: Ensure staff report potential discrimination incidents.
- Complaints: Investigate discrimination complaints, including sexual harassment; oversee case management for internal and external complaints.
- Monitoring: Monitor implementation of civil‑rights laws and regulations in admissions, education programs, and campus activities.
- Collaboration: Work with cabinet, deans, faculty, staff, related offices, committees, HR, and legal counsel.
- Systemic Issues: Identify patterns or systemic problems arising from complaints and collaborate with HR on solutions.
- Leadership: Lead the AEO office, including recruiting, managing, developing, and assessing staff performance.

- Coordinate the compliance of EEO, Title VI, and Title VII regulations.
- Conduct intake assessments and investigations for discrimination complaints filed internally or to external agencies.
- Monitor data related to reports of discrimination, harassment, sex‑based misconduct, and barriers to access; identify trends and develop targeted interventions.
- Develop the Title IX Coordinator role: provide training, update policies and procedures for informal and formal complaints, ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
- Oversee implementation of supportive measures for individuals reporting sexual misconduct and accommodations for pregnancy or related conditions.
- Develop affirmative action plans, inclusive hiring strategies, and training programs; maintain compliance reports and records.
- Serve as campus ADA and 504 Coordinator, overseeing accommodations and accessibility compliance initiatives.
- Supervise office staff and operations, monitor budgets, and maintain reporting systems and AEO programming logistics.
- Engage campus and community stakeholders, serve on committees, and represent AEO/Title IX interests on system‑wide boards.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in Title IX, Title VI, ADA, Aff. Action reporting, student affairs, equity, diversity, and/or inclusion.
