We are seeking a motivated, hard-working, detail-oriented seasonal Equipment Operator to assist in the maintenance of our 18-hole championship golf course. Our seasonal Equipment Operators maintain the rough, tees, and fairways by utilizing ride-on mowers. Team members in this position will occasionally assist in mowing greens, and with the proper training, operate a tractor with a three-point attachment. Seasonal Equipment Operators are key to providing our members and their guests with an unforgettable golf experience on one of the best courses in Central Illinois.

This position typically begins employment in early spring and ends in late fall, depending on weather. The Seasonal Equipment Operator position is ideal for candidates who are retired, teachers on summer break, or anyone with 10-20 hours of availability in their weekly schedule.

• Through training, become proficient in operating ride-on equipment used to mow greens, tees, fairways, and rough as well as three-point tractor attachments used for cultural practices..
• Safely operate motorized equipment such as riding mowers, and utility vehicles.
• Keep supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters coming to his/her attention so prompt action can be taken when appropriate.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Work well with a team to prioritize a sense of urgency and a real concern for meeting department objectives.

• Be able to meet physical demands including the necessity to stand, walk, reach, use hands/fingers, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on uneven terrain for extended periods of time.
• Be able to exert and lift up to 10 pounds on a regular and continuing basis to move objects.
• Meet specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Tolerate conditions of work environment including exposure to operating machinery, vibration, amplified sound, natural botanical allergens, varying weather conditions, particulate matter, electrical components, and agronomic chemicals.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule (4- to 8-hour shifts, 1-5 days per week) that may include some holidays, weekends, and early hours.

This is a non-exempt position and will be paid on an hourly basis.
