Network Technician (Airborne, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Operations Support Cell)
Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA-provided GIG capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC).
Location:
Scott AFB, IL.
Required Citizenship and Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance to start.
Responsibilities- Create and update tickets utilizing Remedy.
- Monitor network events and element management failures in real‑time 24x7x365 across multiple monitoring tools.
- Proactively analyze alarms, perform incident correlation and fault analysis, filter and correlate fault information, identify fault conditions and their impacts, isolate root causes, coordinate correction of fault situations, and notify necessary points of contact.
- Support the fault isolation process, diagnose and troubleshoot utilizing procedures, identify failed network elements (systems, hardware, software, circuits, or facilities), test, fault troubleshoot, localize, log and assign tickets.
- Provide global situational awareness support to all customers.
- Correct/replace faulty network elements, coordinate with other service providers, verify service restoration, and ensure resolution of all customer‑initiated tickets.
- Restore networks and service to full operation, coordinate with other service providers to track service restoration, meet DISN SLA and customer negotiated SLAs, identify failures attributable to other causes, conduct reroute and normalization of services and circuits, document reroute in the CMDB, provide updates on outages and sustainment support 24/7/365, provide situational awareness to leadership, and work directly with Shift lead and O&M leadership.
- Escalate incidents, coordinate with customers, update tickets, record and monitor escalated incidents, demonstrate knowledge of training and procedures, evaluate and provide feedback for training, assist in training Network controllers, communicate effectively with O&M team and customers, provide technical advice, and demonstrate proficiency in DISN components (routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching, etc.).
Qualifications
- DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent) at start date.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
- Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
- Expertise in three or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching.
- General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP.
- Currently possess an active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret security clearance.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma and 2-4 years of experience.

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
