Ad Tech Architect / Programmatic Solutions Architect

Seeking a senior, publisher-side programmatic ad tech architect to design and implement an in-house monetization stack from the ground up. This role is focused on standing up the system correctly, not long-term optimization or sales execution. The consultant will be responsible for implementing Google Ad Manager, header bidding, and SSP integrations, and ensuring a clean, documented handoff to internal ownership.

• Stand up a new Google Ad Manager (GAM) network from scratch
• Design line item hierarchy and priorities (Open Auction, PMP, PG, House)
• Define and configure pricing rules and floors by geography and placement
• Map and validate all inventory across site placements

• Implement Prebid.js (client-side or hybrid)
• Configure:
  • bidder setup
  • timeouts
  • price granularity
  • auction mechanics
• Onboard and integrate SSPs (AdX, Index Exchange, Magnite, Amazon, OpenX, Pub Matic, Trad Desk, etc.)
• Prevent bid duplication and demand cannibalization (basically set up correctly)

• Ensure monetization does not negatively impact:
  • page speed
  • Core Web Vitals
  • user experience
• Implement safeguards around:
  • ad load
  • frequency
  • high-impact formats (interstitials, video)

• Configure GAM and Prebid reporting for:
  • CPM
  • fill rate
  • demand mix
  • SSP contribution
• Document system architecture and operating logic
• Train internal stakeholders on:
  • GAM workflows
  • troubleshooting
  • best practices

• Proven experience leading multiple publisher migrations
• Deep GAM and AdX expertise
• Strong understanding of auction dynamics and bid duplication
• Experience migrating off ad networks or managed services
• Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals and ad latency
