As a Director of the Solution Architecture-Neocloud Team, you will lead a new team of Architects & Engineers focused on driving outcomes for Neo Cloud clients. You will provide leadership, technical direction, foster innovation, and ensure delivery of architectures that meet scalability, security, and performance goals. You will collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Lumen ecosystem partners to shape strategies and lead technical enablement initiatives for teams and clients.

You can expect significant discovery, development, and growth of this newly established vertical with a dedicated team.

• Build, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing team of Architects and Engineers, sharing vision, direction, and priorities to ensure execution against organizational goals.
• Regular executive‑level engagement with customers (C‑suite, VPs, decision makers), partners, and within Lumen.
• Partner to Sales RVP Large Enterprise.
• Drive strategic customer engagement efforts that deepen relationships, align solutions to business priorities, and create partnerships.
• Define and implement the best team practices, standardizing templates and architectures that are repeatable frameworks, and leverage tools that improve solution quality and pre‑sales efficiency.
• Serve as a strategic bridge between customer needs and inter‑metal teams, ensuring clear communication and shared priorities.
• Oversee team workload, resource planning, and prioritization to ensure effective execution aligned with customer and Lumen expectations.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to develop technical playbooks and competitive positioning to service Neo Cloud customers.
• Provide regular coaching, feedback, and development plans to advance team skills, performance, and career progression.
• Build a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, accountability, and customer advocacy.
• Manage budget.

• Experience leading technical teams or managing customer‑facing engineering organizations demonstrates leadership characteristics.
• Experience in solution architecture, pre‑sales, or technical consulting within cloud, data center, or SaaS environments, with a progressive track record of increased level of responsibility.
• Leadership experience regarding accountability, technical strategy, execution, and outcomes for new Neo Cloud / DC segment.
• Solid foundation in enterprise architecture, cloud, edge, data center, cybersecurity, and network infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML workload requirements such as data movement, high‑capacity transport, low‑latency performance.
• Skilled at bridging strong client relationships by combining technical and business priorities to drive successful outcomes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences.
• Proven ability to hire, manage, mentor, and motivate successful solution architecture teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience. MBA or related graduate degree is a plus.
• Industry or cloud certifications are a plus.
• Travel required.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

• $144,711 - $192,938 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, , IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
• $151,946 - $202,587 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI.
