Position: Nurse - Clinical Workforce Recruiter (Human Resource Associate) (5020)

Description

The Nurse Recruiter is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process for nursing and clinical positions across the organization. This role involves sourcing qualified candidates, coordinating interviews, collaborating with hiring managers, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.

In addition to recruitment, the Nurse Recruiter supports the successful onboarding and integration of clinical staff by developing orientation and mentorship programs that foster employee engagement, retention, and readiness for practice. The role also serves as the coordinator for the Right Now Program, managing staffing assignments, schedules, and performance oversight of program participants to address short-term workforce needs and ensure seamless clinical operations.

The Nurse Recruiter plays a critical role in supporting the healthcare workforce by building strong talent pipelines and aligning hiring strategies with organizational needs.

Examples of Duties 1. Full-Cycle Recruitment – 50%
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies for nursing and clinical positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop job postings, and define selection criteria.
  • Conduct phone screenings, coordinate interviews, and facilitate selection processes.
  • Extend job offers and coordinate pre‑employment requirements with HR and onboarding teams.
  • Utilize online platforms, job boards, professional networks, and social media to attract nursing talent.
  • Build and maintain relationships with nursing schools, training programs, and community organizations.
  • Attend career fairs, networking events, and employer branding activities to increase candidate pipeline.
  • Ensure timely and professional communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system and ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Promote the organization’s values and culture to prospective employees.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics (e.g., time‑to‑fill, source effectiveness) to improve performance.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of hiring practices.
  • Ensure recruitment practices comply with state and federal employment regulations and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues on onboarding, credentialing, and employee transitions.
2. Onboarding and Education – 25%
  • Design and facilitate orientation programs for new clinical employees, including nurses, nursing assistants, and other allied health staff.
  • Support preceptorship and mentorship programs to ensure successful staff integration.
  • Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify gaps in skills or knowledge.
3. Right Now Program Coordination – 25%
  • Responsible for interviewing and selecting program participants.
  • Coordinate orientation and training for new personnel.
  • Coordinate staff assignments and work with hiring managers to monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments as needed.
  • Maintain staffing records, scheduling databases, and time‑keeping systems for program participants.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff concerns and escalation, participating in the disciplinary process as required.
  • Facilitate assignment extensions and terminations as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position.
  • Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience in healthcare recruitment or healthcare management.
  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
