Luminary Position - Licensed Mental Health Therapist
Women-Centered Group Practice | Springfield, Illinois
Luminary Counseling Solutions is an established and growing, women-owned group practice rooted in warmth, connection, and high-quality therapeutic care. We are seeking a licensed, master’s-prepared mental health clinician (LCSW, LPC, or LCPC) who values meaningful relationships, emotional intelligence, and thoughtful clinical work.
Our practice is especially well-suited for clinicians who feel called to work deeply with women, children, and families—and who are ready to transition into a private practice-style setting that offers both autonomy and genuine support.
At Luminary, we believe healing happens best in environments that are calm, intentional, and human. We prioritize sustainable caseloads, collaborative care, and a culture that supports the clinician as much as the client.
About the RoleThis position focuses on outpatient psychotherapy (not medical social work) within a small, connected team. Clinicians have flexibility in shaping their schedules, clinical focus, and professional goals while benefiting from a steady referral stream and strong administrative support.
You’ll have space to bring or build specialties
—such as women’s emotional health, child and adolescent therapy, trauma-informed care, family systems, or parent support—that align with your interests and Luminary’s mission.
- Provide high-quality outpatient psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and/or families
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations using DSM-5 standards
- Develop thoughtful, individualized treatment plans rooted in client-centered and evidence-based care
- Practice within modalities aligned with your strengths (CBT, ACT, trauma-informed care, play therapy, family systems, etc.)
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation within our EMR system
- Collaborate with fellow clinicians through consultation, case discussion, and team connection
- Participate in occasional team meetings and trainings that support growth and cohesion
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations within the outpatient scope of care
- Optionally contribute to program development, groups, workshops, or service expansion
- Engage in ongoing professional development—continued learning is encouraged and valued
- Active Illinois licensure:
LCSW, LPC, or LCPC (or nearing full licensure with strong outpatient experience) - Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field
- Experience providing outpatient therapy using evidence-based approaches
- Comfort working with emotional concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, family stress, and identity development
- Strong clinical judgment, relational presence, and emotional attunement
- Ability to work independently while valuing collaboration and team support
- Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and compassionate care
Joining Luminary means joining a practice that values depth over volume and presence over productivity
.
We offer:
- A consistent referral stream and active waitlist
- Administrative and billing support so you can focus on therapy
- A beautiful, calm, and welcoming office environment
- Flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time)
- Paid time off and a retirement plan
- Supportive, accessible leadership
- Opportunities for specialization, creativity, and professional growth
- A connected, family-centered culture built on warmth and mutual respect
This role is ideal for a clinician who wants their work to feel meaningful, sustainable, and aligned with who they are as a healer
