Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Neuroscience/MS (TAS)
Location: Field – Springfield, IL
Position Summary: The TAS is a critical role that drives demand for Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) medicines within a defined territory. The role builds and maintains strong credibility with regional thought leaders and community‑based physicians, and prioritizes the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while delivering an overall higher customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Promotes BMS products to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Articulates scientific and clinical rationale for product use to appropriate patients.
- Maintains high scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Uses available tools (e.g., CE^3) to derive insights and inform call plans.
- Demonstrates scientific expertise and passion in presenting approved scientific resources to HCPs.
- Conducts in‑office presentations and discusses product‑related scientific information with HCPs.
- Organizes external speaker programs and facilitates logistics.
- Engages real‑time medical support through Medical on Call.
- Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best customer experience for HCPs.
- Shares relevant insights and information internally with appropriate stakeholders.
- Advanced scientific degree and / or at least 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers.
- Experience in Neurology is preferred.
- Strong account management and superior selling competencies with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Effective cross‑functional teamwork and positive team mindset.
- Strong selling and promotional skills proven through a track record of performance.
- Customer / commercial mindset – drive business results and engage credibility across the patient care journey.
- Patient centricity – understand the patient journey and exhibit a patient‑focused mindset.
- Scientific agility – excellent communication and presentation skills; strong learning mindset and passion for science.
- Analytical capability – analyze data such as prescribing patterns, market trends, and HCP preferences.
- Technological agility – use technology in various aspects of the healthcare business and interact with HCPs.
- Technical competence – use CE^3, Medical on Call technology, and CRM tools to collect, enter, and manage quality data in a timely and compliant manner.
- Teamwork / enterprise mindset – strong business acumen, learning agility, and high integrity to navigate role requirements effectively.
