Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience, required certifications, and proficiency in adult diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute care hospital setting within a Level I trauma center
- Assignment in the cardiac catheterization lab with middle and older adult patient populations
- Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, stent placements, cardiac implant closure devices, IABP placement/removal, PCI, PTCA, and rotablader athrectomy
- Schedule options include 3x12 day shifts (06:30-19:00), 5x8s, 4x10s, or 4x12s, with flexibility and the ability to discuss scheduling requests
- Weekend coverage includes 2-3 weekends per contract
- Call is required on a rotating basis with staff and a dedicated call team; frequency discussed with manager based on census
- No floating outside the cath lab is required
- Uses Cerner EMR; experience required
- Scrubs are provided
- Role focuses on performing both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures and equipment setup
- Responsibilities include interpreting dysrhythmias and maintaining infection control practices
- Dedicated team support for call coverage is provided
- This is a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I trauma facility
- Free parking permit is provided upon orientation
- First-time travelers are considered
- Local candidates are accepted
- Requested time off should not exceed five days
- Active ARRT or RCIS required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab
- Demonstrated skills in cardiac implant closure, stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP, PCI, PTCA, athrectomy, and scrub procedures
- Competency in equipment setup, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, isolation precautions, and sterile technique
- Proficiency with Cerner charting required
- Experience working with middle-aged and older adult populations
- Pending licenses are not accepted; must have an active license to apply
