Family Guidance Centers, Inc. – Mental Health Counselor

Base Pay Range: $42,000 – $47,500 per year (actual pay based on skills and experience).

Location: 120 N 11th St, Springfield, IL 62703.

Schedule: Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Flexibility required as program needs vary.

Start Date: ASAP.

Number of Openings: 2.

• Develop and implement patient treatment plans, conduct continuous review based on research, clinical experience, and patients’ histories using SAMMS assessment.
• Provide direct clinical services to a full caseload, achieving a minimum of 20 billable hours weekly.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of patients’ histories, progress, and services provided.
• Assess drug dependency by collecting and analyzing screening samples.
• Interview patients, review records, and consult with other professionals to evaluate mental and physical health and program suitability.
• Review and evaluate patient progress relative to measurable goals in care plans.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling;
  Master’s preferred.
• Working knowledge of ASAM clinical guidelines, DHS/SUPR contracting, JCAHO/CARF guidelines, DEA, and CSAT rules is preferred.

• IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor required.
• CADC required within two years of hire or if positioned in a role requiring CADC.
• Preferred:
  Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois.
• Preferred:
  Certified by Illinois Certification Board (ICB) as Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) within one year of employment.
