LocationSpringfield Residential – 2200 Lake Victoria Dr, Springfield, IL 62703. Residential Center – Adult Male and Female population.
Work ScheduleFriday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday; 1 PM – 11 PM.
Recovery Coach Responsibilities- Facilitates motivational conversations and group sessions to help clients achieve treatment goals.
- Assists clients transitioning from incarceration or hospital to community by serving as a sober living example and identifying resources, services and support groups.
- Serves as a member of the treatment team by monitoring client behavior, reporting observations, incidents or unusual occurrences, and contributing to decisions regarding treatment plans, conflict intervention or privileges.
- Assists team in maintaining consistent setting for treatment, and planning and coordinating client interaction events.
- Drives Gateway vehicle to transport clients in Gateway treatment programs or those interested in treatment to appointments.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including conducting engagement sessions with clients prior to their release from incarceration or discharge from the hospital when intervention staff are absent.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year experience in the mental health field.
- Valid local driver’s license, good driving record and must be at least 21 years of age to transport clients.
- Basic knowledge of physical, cognitive and psychosocial functioning levels of the client population.
- Basic knowledge of substance use disorder treatment services and/or familiarity with treatment programs.
- Strong customer service and basic communication skills to support care plans and client understanding.
- Ability to interact and communicate with clients appropriately based on their individual maturation level.
- Ability to read, write, and understand written instructions, document interactions and complete file work.
- Ability to walk or move around facilities for up to two hours at a time.
- Ability to interact verbally and support others.
- Ability to proofread documents for accuracy regularly.
- Ability to respond to phones, pages, alarms, and unusual noises.
- Ability to drive an automobile or van and remain alert to traffic conditions.
- Hourly rate ranges from $16.93 to $24.47, depending on experience and credentials.
