Summary

This position will support CAPE's online curriculum development projects for employer training. Responsibilities include conducting learner analyses, storyboarding, working with subject matter experts and stakeholders to define and refine content, developing interactive curriculum, and managing aspects of the project along with a team. The ideal candidate will have experience in instructional design, creating software simulations with Articulate Storyline, and collaborating with SMEs and stakeholders to reach consensus and meet project deadlines.

This position can be remote, but Illinois residency is required.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Creates eLearning content and activities using Canvas, Articulate Storyline, and other authoring tools
  • Collaborates with SMEs to create detailed storyboards for stakeholder review and approval
  • Designs exercises, activities and assessments that enhance learner understanding
  • Manage project deadlines and deliverables
  • Follows instructional design processes to create sound instructional objectives, learning activities and assessment
  • Analyzes and applies trends and best practices in accessibility and instructional design
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of the following, totaling 6 months from the categories below:

  • Coursework in instructional design, instructional technology, education, or similar field.
  • 30 semester hours equals 6 months
  • Certification in instructional design or gamified eLearning development.
  • Work experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or systems training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of instructional design and online education.
  • Certifications or experience in learning development.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Portfolio samples that include system/technical training content.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of function, operation, and maintenance of different types of elearning software.
  • Knowledge of routine office software such as word processing, spread sheets, and/or databases.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Ability to provide quality customer support and professionally interact with all faculty, staff and external partners.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
