Middle School Teacher - Social Studies

LOCATION: Grant Middle School

CONTRACT PERIOD: 180 days

Building Principal

REQUIREMENTS/

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License with middle school endorsement in Social Studies
• Experience working collaboratively with other teachers
• Experience in flexible grouping, including small group and individual instructional practices
• Cooperate in carrying out school and district policies and regulations
• Demonstrate teaching skills necessary to perform duties, including maintaining classroom control, utilizing appropriate techniques and being knowledgeable about subject

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish and maintain a classroom climate and management plan conducive to learning
• Actively participate as a member of a professional learning community
• Contribute as a team member and/or leader to all school improvement initiatives
• Use technology as a means to support the work of teachers and students
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community
• Cooperate in carrying out school district rules and regulation.
• Be punctual and regular in attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned
