Position Summary and What you'll do:
Provides evidence-based vision care to ensure patients' health and wellbeing by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options, conducting comprehensive eye examinations, prescribing fitting and adjusting eyeglasses and contact lenses, and coordinating patient care with other health professionals in accordance with optometry scope of practice per state board. Maintains patient information in vision center systems in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner, and supports vision center staff and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality patient care and customer service.
Additional responsibilities include developing treatment plans based on clinical presentation, representing the company in vision care and patient engagement, and ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations and Walmart vision center guidelines.

Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based vision care, including evaluation of visual acuity, eye health, and related diagnostics
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids; perform and interpret diagnostic tests
- Develop and coordinate patient care plans with other health professionals; follow up on outstanding tests or information
- Educate patients and store associates on eye health, contact lens care, and safety factors
- Maintain patient records in vision center systems (e.g., BOSS) and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist vision center staff with best practices and procedures; ensure compliance with regulations and Walmart guidelines
- Contribute to business strategy, resource planning, costs, forecasts, and improving operational processes
- Support talent management: attract, recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a skilled workforce
- Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school. Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.
- Preferred Qualifications: Healthcare experience.
