Are you a strategic, sales-driven product leader with deep knowledge of composite wood products? We’re looking for a Product Category Manager – Composites to own and grow a high-impact product category including TFL, particleboard, and MDF
.
This is a high-visibility role that blends product strategy, supplier management, sales enablement, pricing, and cross-functional leadership — all with a clear mandate to drive revenue and margin growth.
🔎 What You’ll Own Product Strategy & Lifecycle Leadership- Lead the full lifecycle of the composites category — from product launch to phase-out
- Define and execute category vision aligned with company growth objectives
- Identify new product opportunities and rationalize underperforming SKUs
- Serve as the internal composites subject matter expert
- Partner with Sales to drive revenue and profit goals
- Conduct joint sales calls and support key account development
- Develop cross-selling strategies bundling composites with surfaces, adhesives, hardware, plywood, lumber, and fabrication services
- Launch new products with coordinated merchandising and inventory planning
- Set and track quarterly and annual sales goals
- Lead training initiatives for Sales teams
- Participate in industry, supplier, and customer events
- Ensure CRM discipline and opportunity tracking
- Collaborate with Purchasing on supplier strategy and vendor evaluation
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and healthy turns
- Manage slow-moving inventory and product phase-outs
- Align on forecasting, service levels, and supplier performance
- Support competitive, margin-focused pricing strategy
- Manage project quotes (24-hour turnaround when possible)
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends
- Maintain product data and pricing resources
- 5+ years of product or category management experience
- Strong knowledge of composite wood products (TFL, particleboard, MDF)
- Experience in building materials distribution or manufacturing preferred
- Sales-oriented mindset with a track record of driving growth
- Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field
- Proficiency in Excel
- Ability to travel to all branch territories quarterly (up to 50%)
This is not a back-office product role. This is a field-facing, growth-oriented leadership position responsible for building supplier partnerships, enabling the sales team, and developing bundled solutions that simplify sourcing and improve fabrication efficiency for customers.
