Estimator in Training

This role is for an Estimator in Training who will learn to diagnose and prepare estimates for repair in alignment with insurance partner and company guidelines, while helping communicate Gerber's value to customers to achieve a high closed sales ratio.

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Greet customers at repair drop-off and build rapport.
• Map damage with the customer (previous loss, current loss, WOW opportunities).
• Handle repair mapping, take initial photographs, upload photos and notes to CCC One with arrival time information.
• Notify production that the vehicle has arrived and place it in the production queue; verify the estimate during teardown.
• Finalize the estimate using the proper Repair Planning Template.
• Work with the repair team to ensure notations on the windshield are correct and complete; assemble the final parts list.
• Use the Promise Date Calculator to set the promise date and call the customer to review the estimate and promise date.
• Update the customer regularly (frequency determined by management standards).
• Participate in and contribute to regularly scheduled production meetings.
• Call customers whose cars will be completed the next day; schedule with the customer.
• Follow up with technicians after vehicle tear down and adjust the estimate if needed.
• Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports and provide service to insurance claim re-inspectors.

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Must currently possess or successfully complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience. Photo-imaging software experience preferred.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft products is preferred.
• Good decision-making ability and sound judgment.

• Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and crouch in providing an accurate estimate of a vehicle’s damage.
• Must possess clear vision in providing an accurate estimate of a vehicle’s damage.
