Description
Employees will answer incoming calls to the School of Medicine and all incoming calls to SIU Health Care, determine the person/area best able to handle the caller's needs and transfer the call to the appropriate number.
Examples of Duties- 65% Responds to all incoming and interoffice calls and transfer's callers to the appropriate party.
- 15% Provide general information to callers concerning appropriate university offices, location of university events and other information as requested by caller.
- 15% Accesses and maintains centralized database information and maintains updated call schedule to enable accurate and efficient routing of calls.
- 3% Provides feedback to departments regarding accessibility of personnel.
- 2% Performs other related duties as assigned.
Credentials to be Verified by Placement Officer
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Condition of Employment
Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, an out-of-state resident who is hired into this position must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of their start date.
