Specialist, Events Management Department (Exhibit Trade Show) - Lombard or Springfield

The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a full-time Events Management Specialist. This position reports to the Director of Events Management and will be headquartered in IASB’s Lombard or Springfield office.

The Events Management Specialist primary duties include processing exhibition contracts for the Joint Annual Conference as well as for other Association meetings and events which require the services of the Events Management Department. The position will assist in providing support with the logistical aspects of the Joint Annual Conference, and other duties as assigned.

The Events Management Specialist position requires a minimum of a high school diploma, with event management and marketing education/experience preferred. Candidates should possess exceptional organizational, meeting planning and communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work independently and take initiative to start and finish projects. Additional requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

The employee must have a valid Illinois drivers’ license and a vehicle; mileage and reasonable travel reimbursement will be provided.

This position requires the employee to be able to lift, move, and safely handle boxes and materials up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the position.

The position offers an annual salary of $35,000 – $43,000, with a generous benefits package that includes holidays, vacation and sick time, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement benefits.
