A growing public accounting firm is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Client Accounting Services (CAS) team. This group acts as an outsourced accounting department for closely held businesses, providing bookkeeping, month-end reporting, and ongoing financial support.
This is a full-time role with strong remote flexibility. Chicago-area candidates are preferred for occasional in-person collaboration, but not required.
Responsibilities- Maintain general ledgers (primarily Quick Books Online)
- Record journal entries and perform reconciliations
- Manage AP/AR
- Assist with monthly close and financial reporting
- Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Communicate directly with clients
- 2–5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Degree in Accounting preferred; CPA not required
- Ability to manage multiple clients in a deadline-driven environment
- Remote flexibility

* This position is primarily remote, but candidates must reside in the Chicago area to accommodate occasional in-person meetings (a few times per year)
