Summary As a Senior Accountant, you will be an integral part of the Corporate Accounting team and will be challenged to think outside the box to seek solutions and drive process improvements. While maintaining responsibility for a wide variety of accounting duties, you will help maintain the accuracy and safeguarding of the company’s financials. This role is an ideal fit for a motivated self-starter and a consummate team player who thrives in a dynamic growth environment.
Responsibilities- Maintain fixed asset and leasing subledgers, ensure timely capitalization, accurate asset status and dispositions.
- Calculate, validate, and post monthly depreciation and lease amortization entries.
- Reconcile fixed assets and leases monthly.
- Track, monitor, and report on construction in progress and internally developed software for capital projects; analyze monthly activity to ensure appropriate accounting treatment
- Research appropriate accounting treatment for leases under ASC 842
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles. Identify areas of improvement related to internal controls
- Complete all assigned tasks necessary for the general ledger close at each period-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting cycle timely and accurately
- Develop and implement process improvements with the goal of reducing the time to close the books while maintaining high quality and accuracy
- Research new accounting standards as needed, providing guidance on impact to processes throughout the business
- Work cross-functionally on projects and initiatives. Complete ad-hoc assignments as needed
- Analyze financial information and provide explanations
- Assist with annual external audit and financial reporting
- 3+ years of accounting or relevant experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of ASC 842 compliance and capitalization of internally developed software
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new systems
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail and deadlines
- Self-driven curiosity to ask questions and seek understanding
- Effective relationship building skills and communication with team members of all levels
- Background of strong character, integrity, leadership, and sound decision-making
- Ability to work independently, managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively
- Exempt $68,100 - $90,000
