We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support advanced machining operations for aerospace components. This role focuses on programming complex machining centers using Siemens NX CAM, with an emphasis on high-precision aerospace superalloys and other advanced materials. The position involves developing probing routines, macros, and optimized toolpaths to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and support new product introduction (NPI) and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, optimize, and implement NX CAM programs for lathes, mills, 5-axis mill-turn, and turn-mill machining centers.
- Create advanced probing routines and macros to drive efficiency and ensure error-proof machining.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to generate accurate toolpaths and setups.
- Identify and validate tooling and fixturing strategies for complex aerospace components.
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and operations to troubleshoot issues, improve cycle times, and mitigate risks during NPI or production transitions.
- Manage multiple programming projects simultaneously, documenting changes and providing regular updates to internal leadership and customers.
- Maintain CNC programs to reflect design or process updates, ensuring production readiness and compliance with quality standards.
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
- Proficiency with CAM software (ideally NX), including multi-axis programming, probing, and macro development.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, fixture design, and process optimization.
- Hands-on experience with machining aerospace-grade materials including 4140, stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys (e.g., Hastelloy).
- Familiarity with CNC equipment such as mills, lathes, wire EDM, 5-axis, and turn-mill centers.
- Background in CAD software and GD&T applications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a team-based environment.
- U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) required due to project requirements.
- Advanced NX CAM programming skills with CAD experience.
- Knowledge of probing systems (Renishaw, Siemens).
- Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Okuma.
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and production launch readiness.
- Background in CMM operation and programming.
- Experience applying lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
