We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class A CDL driver to fill a Delivery Service Associate position for local routes around our distribution center location. This safety‑sensitive role offers daily home time, competitive hourly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package. The primary function is to drive flatbed trucks and curtain‑side trailers to deliver products efficiently and accurately to customers. CDL drivers must exhibit a courteous and professional attitude at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Work safely at all times, observing all safety procedures to prevent injury.
- Operate semi‑trucks and other non‑CDL trucks in accordance with state and federal transportation laws.
- Transport loads safely and on time over required routes, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas, following loading crew signals.
- Assist with loading or unload goods using specialized equipment when warranted; unload empty skids and return equipment to designated area.
- Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; submit electronically or directly to shipping office.
- Perform daily pre‑trip, post‑trip, and routine inspections of truck and trailer to ensure safety and compliance.
- Ensure material loaded matches shipping documents and products are in good condition.
- Secure material in the truck to prevent damage in transit, using straps, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
- Maintain proper weight distribution for DOT compliance.
- Maintain and update electronic logbook, trip reports, and onboard computer to ensure DOT compliance.
- Communicate any delivery problems to the branch immediately.
- Communicate and interact with customers courteously and professionally.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- DOT qualification standards, including drug screening and medical card.
- Acceptable driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Minimum of 3 years of similar driving experience within the last 5 years.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Employment contingent upon passing a DOT drug and alcohol test, motor vehicle record check, and criminal background screening consistent with applicable law and company policy.
