* SUMMARY:

** The Hatchery – Chick Delivery Driver is responsible for loading and unloading chicks and deliver them safely to the farms from the Hatchery.  The driver is responsible for ensuring chicks are delivered on a timely basis and are correctly placed in the grower’s houses.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
** include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Complete truck inspection and fill out inspection sheet prior to leaving on the first load.
* Ensure truck is kept in good conditions, clean and fueled.
* Maintain work records, logs, timesheets, and trip reports.
* Monitor trailer environment to ensure chick comfort.
* Unload birds in such a way to ensure traceability once delivered.
* Follow all local, State and Federal DOT Regulations.
* Follow all Farm and Hatchery Biosecurity Principals.
* Follow Animal Welfare Guidelines and Company Policies.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor
** SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
** This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
** EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
* ** Required**  + Current valid Class A - CDL license.  + Current valid medical certificate from an examiner on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.  + 2 years of verifiable driving experience with a Representative Vehicle; or 1 year of verifiable driving experience with a Representative Vehicle and a certificate of successful completion from reputable driving school program of at least 40 hours.  

+ Must meet requirements established by George’s Fleet Safety Program, insurance company requirements and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMSCSR).  + Reading, writing and mathematical comprehension.  + Proficiency in English
