The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. This position will cover all facets of general maintenance including heating, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure optimum functionality. Must be able to perform troubleshooting on equipment, building and machines for quick resolution and required level of performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Troubleshoot basic electrical circuits such as defective switches, bad motors, changing light ballasts and bulbs.
  • Troubleshoot forklift problems and handle general repairs.
  • Complete plumbing jobs (air, water and hydraulics)
  • Repair pumps, valves and fans.
  • Perform stick and mig welding when necessary.
  • Others duties as assigned.
  • Monitors maintenance inventory, order supplies for facility and maintenance.
  • Maintains records and logs of daily activities.
  • Performs related duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years of industrial related experience and/or training of general and industrial maintenance tasks; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge & Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Performs general repairs including drywall, painting, and repairs to building fixtures and machinery.
  • Must be able to plan and respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis based on scheduling.
  • Must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot faults.
  • Ability to repair, fix and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing maintenance as needed.
  • Perform routine building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC repair and maintenance.
  • Must be able to inspect and assess functional systems and detect malfunctions; make noted repairs and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must adhere to all safety practices, general knowledge of OSHA guidelines and procedures.
  • Must be able to be a part of the Safety Team and promote Safety Awareness within the facility.
  • Maintain company equipment in operable working condition.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude.
  • Perform routine facility safety inspections.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order at all times.
  • Forklift experience, and willing to be certified on all types of forklifts.
  • Must have computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft programs, Word and Excel.

REQUIREMENTS

Must hold a valid Arkansas Electrical License

Comply with OSHA and other local, state and federal regulations.

Physical demands – must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Must be able to work overtime when required

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.

OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
