Arkansas Oral and Facial Surgery Center is a busy, patient focused oral surgery practice providing exceptional surgical care in a compassionate and professional environment. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our fast paced team.
This role plays a vital part in patient safety, comfort, and surgery recovery while also supporting surgical and clinical operations.
- Active RN license – required
- Current CPR certification – required
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up for anesthesia records, IV medications, IV bags, medication logbooks and other duties as assigned.
- Perform turnover between patients in compliance with OSHA and infection control standards and ensure supplies are stocked for procedures.
- Assist the anesthesiologist/surgeon with circulating surgery patients while under IV and general anesthesia.
- Provide perioperative monitoring and patient care to include, but not limited to suctioning of airways, maintaining and managing oral and nasopharyngeal airways, assessing for required discharge criteria, oral dressing changes.
- Monitoring and proper recording of perioperative vital signs.
- Administration of required post-operative PRN medications and well as any emergency medications if required.
- Placing and removing IV catheters.
- Reviewing post-operative care with patient families.
- Obtain radiographs as needed.
- Assist in clinical consultations, gather thorough medical histories, and review referring doctor notes.
- Accurately document patient notes and maintain detailed clinical records and review consent medical history and surgical plan with patient.
- Circulating/OR experience
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
