Purchasing Buyer​/Expediter​/Planner

This position is responsible for purchasing and verifying terms in order to ensure the speedy delivery of product for both customer’s and Production’s needs.

Shift available:

1st Shift (7:30am - 4:30pm)

• Performs purchasing functions for the Plant to ensure product is here timely to meet customer orders and Production’s needs. Review orders and coordinate to the projected requirements and need for Floor Stocks.
• Decides on the manner in which orders may be placed based on Corporate or Plant rules and regulations and the knowledge of the ingredient needs.
• Verifies pricing, freight charges, and shipment data on all orders. Ensures that billed data matches the price quotes before releasing data for processing.
• Works with customer service and production to update and or expedite the order based on feedback, concerns, and purchasing history knowledge.
• Evaluates Real Time Inventory Report weekly identifying root cause and corrective action.
• Assists Department by establishing and maintaining records, updating system data and performing various clerical functions as directed.
• Maintains records and prepares reports.
• Provides inventory assistance.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• High school diploma plus 2 years of college or equivalent education, training, and/or experience.
• Minimum 6 months experience in purchasing/buyer role within the food production industry.
• Ability to pass Comprehension and Math Tests.
• Must have Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and AS 400.

• General office setting
