summary: provides general maintenance of the hospital, making repairs and additions to wall, floor and ceiling systems, maintaining doors, locks, closers, and installing complex signs.
required education: none. High school diploma or ged for equivalency.
required work experience: 2 years of relevant experience; high school diploma or ged may substitute for 2 years.
recommended certifications: boiler operator license – arkansas department of labor boiler operator’s license division.
responsibilities:
- checks and prioritizes work orders daily, completing them within a reasonable timeframe.
- communicates with lead nursing personnel to schedule repairs within patient units or rooms.
- performs general maintenance tasks, including repairing or adding walls, floors, ceilings, cutting keys, installing new cylinders, painting, and installing signs following hospital signage policy, ada, and local codes.
- receives materials, verifies quality, quantity, pricing, and msds, signs packing slips, and delivers them by shift end.
- submits repair/replacement recommendations to the foreman according to budget planning.
- reports pending repairs to general maintenance foreman.
- performs other duties as assigned.
- ensures all plant machinery operates within design specifications, monitoring local indicators and building automation systems.
- maintains assigned equipment in proper working order.
- maintains knowledge of machinery and operating characteristics necessary for repairs.
- possesses intimate knowledge of emergency response procedures for plant equipment/utilities.
- monitors systems, documents alarms/unusual events, and repairs equipment or systems.
- performs assigned maintenance duties.
