MRI Technologist (PRN) – Springdale

The MRI Technologist I performs routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to support diagnostic and treatment services. This role ensures patient safety and comfort, produces high‑quality images for physician evaluation, and maintains compliance with department protocols and safety standards.
Essential Functions- Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic images.
- Reviews MRI patient questionnaires and medical histories to identify potential contraindications such as implants or foreign bodies.
- Operates MRI and processing equipment proficiently, adhering to established safety guidelines.
- Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams, addressing questions and ensuring comfort.
- Maintains compliance with MRI safety standards, including safety zones and readiness checks.
- Documents clinical history with exam findings for radiologist review.
- Maintains inventory of MRI supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and sterility.
- Verifies physician orders and patient identification prior to procedures.
- Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, and the healthcare team for optimal imaging outcomes.
- Monitors equipment functionality and reports issues promptly.
- Provides post‑exam instructions and support to patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
- 0‑2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist.
- Knowledge of MRI principles, safety standards, and imaging techniques.
- Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and related software.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate assessment of patient needs.
- Detail‑oriented and protocol‑driven.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and image processing.
- ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (required) or ARMRIT – Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (eligible and obtained within 12 months of hire).
- BCLS – Basic Life Support (required).
