Training Manager

About This Opportunity

The Training Manager at Select CDL Driving School in Tontitown, AR, focuses on maintaining FMCSA compliance and managing the instructor team while maintaining an acceptable student testing pass rate with the state of Arkansas.

This Training Manager position is a leadership role primarily focused on the supervision, development, and quality assurance of the instructional staff. You will ensure that all classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel training meets federal, state, and school standards while maintaining a high-performing team of instructors. This job will require strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to mentor a diverse team of instructors.

Pay and Schedule

This position is Monday – Friday, day shift. Pay range is $70k - $80k, dependent upon experience.

How you will contribute to the success of the team

  • Oversee Instructors, providing mentorship and performance evaluations
  • Manage a structured onboarding program to acclimate new instructors to school-specific training methods.
  • Conduct regular observations of instructors to provide constructive feedback, identify training gaps, and ensure consistent delivery of the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the School Manager to coordinate training calendars for students and instructors to maximize equipment and facility utilization.
  • Address instructor performance issues or student-instructor conflicts promptly and fairly.
  • Collaborate with the School Manager to ensure all training programs meet Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements and FMCSA standards.
  • Promote a "safety-first" culture among staff and students, ensuring all training vehicles are in safe operating condition.
  • Intervene in cases where students require remedial training or special instructional adjustments.
  • Work with the shop to ensure that all equipment is safe and ready for daily use in training.
