Technical Accounting Manager

The Technical Accounting Manager will support the Technical Accounting Director in researching, documenting, and applying U.S. GAAP across the rapidly growing organization. This role assists with technical accounting matters, consolidations, and internal and external financial reporting, partnering closely with Accounting, FP&A, Operations, Legal, and external auditors. This position is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who can translate guidance into practical, scalable solutions in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

• Support the Technical Accounting Director in researching, interpreting, and documenting U.S. GAAP conclusions for complex QSR transactions, including:
• Franchise fees, royalties, and advertising fund revenue (ASC 606)
• Gift cards, loyalty programs, and deferred revenue
• Leases (ASC 842)
• Business combinations, refranchising, and dispositions (ASC 805)
• Assist with preparation of technical accounting memoranda and accounting policy documentation.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation process for a multi-entity organization, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliations.
• Support internal and external financial reporting, including preparation and review of financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Prepare support for board materials related to technical accounting and reporting.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal and external auditors on assigned technical accounting, consolidation, and reporting areas.
• Support oversight of ERP and consolidation tools and SOX controls.
• Partner cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, Operations, Real Estate, and Development teams to assess accounting implications of contracts and business initiatives.

• Technical Accounting Foundation – Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to research and apply guidance with supervision.
• Analytical & Detail-Oriented – Able to analyze contracts, transactions, and data to support accurate accounting conclusions.
• Communication Skills – Capable of clearly documenting conclusions and explaining accounting concepts to non-technical partners.
• Collaboration – Works effectively with cross-functional teams and takes direction from senior technical leadership.
• Organization & Prioritization – Manages multiple work streams and deadlines in a close and reporting environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred

• 3-5 years of accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry)
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 606, ASC 805, and ASC 842
• Experience with consolidations in a multi-entity environment
• Experience supporting internal and external financial reporting
• QSR, restaurant, retail, or franchising experience
