Job Summary
The Production Technical Trainer is responsible for training and developing new and existing employees on manufacturing processes, ensuring competency, safety, and efficiency in American Battery Solutions (ABS) production operations.
Responsibilities- Train and certify all personnel on safe operation of equipment, including forklifts and other production machinery.
- Partner with Production Supervisors and Managers to ensure production operators receive continuous, proper training to reach competency levels within time requirements.
- Provide hands-on instruction for all manufacturing processes.
- Create, develop, and implement structured training plans for new hires and cross-training initiatives.
- Assist with creation of training tools/manuals/job aids for operators to enhance performance.
- Communicate production technical training needs for new training requests and development.
- Maintain/improve knowledge on ABS products and machines.
- Develop assessments and evaluations to assess training needs and skill gaps.
- Provide input on process improvement initiatives (Kaizen, new equipment/technologies).
- Work with supervisors to coordinate training needs and schedules with production operators.
- Maintain written communication and documentation of training.
- Create and maintain professional relationships with production operators through expert technical guidance.
- Refresher training for all production operators as needed.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or technical training role.
- Minimum of two (2) years ABS manufacturing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
- Experience with safety compliance, quality control, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to cover shifts as needed based on business demands.
