Security Guard

Job Description

The John Cooper School is currently looking for a full-time security guard and a part-time security guard.

The duties of the Security Guard are to provide campus safety and security services on The John Cooper School Campus with an emphasis on fostering a caring environment for students, faculty, staff and community.

• Directing and monitoring the campus pedestrian and vehicle traffic
• Monitoring and securing all campus buildings and facilities
• Monitoring the Campuses Raptor Alert System
• Student and Faculty parking enforcement

• Working knowledge of law enforcement methods, techniques and procedures
• Working knowledge of The John Cooper School organizational policies and procedures
• An ability to recognize problems and choose the appropriate solution from among several
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

• Experience working in a school setting
• Experience as a security officer
• Security Officer License
• High school diploma or higher education
