Retail Manager - CLUB Membership

Apply to join our team as a Retail Manager focused on our Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s CLUB program. As a salaried member of the leadership team, you’ll oversee the CLUB credit program and customer experience culture throughout the store, and support the entire team during Manager on Duty shifts.

Our most successful CLUB Membership Managers inspire others to deliver an outstanding CLUB customer service experience, build strong relationships, lead with transparency and empathy, coach store leadership, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. They are metrics and compliance driven and resilient when faced with setbacks.

Essential Functions Customer Experience
  • Consistently exemplify outstanding CLUB Customer Service standards by incorporating exclusive benefits into conversations.
  • Promote current CLUB cost‑saving programs by effectively merchandising and signing products for higher visibility.
  • Actively listen to customers to address questions about the CLUB program and develop strategies to improve the customer experience.
  • Serve as the primary CLUB liaison to ensure the retail leadership team and all outfitters understand current promotions and programs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to execute successful on‑site and off‑site events that represent the CLUB brand standards.
Influential Leader and Trainer
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with the General Manager, fellow managers, and outfitters.
  • Motivate and inspire outfitters by giving them the tools and training to succeed with referrals.
  • Lead by example, serving as a role model and coach for peers and outfitters.
  • Facilitate CLUB 101 training with all new outfitters during onboarding, creating a fun and engaging learning environment.
  • Recognize and celebrate others' contributions and success in generating CLUB referrals.
Builds Great Talent
  • Develop strategies to recruit and retain great talent, hiring the right CLUB outfitters and building strong teams.
  • Promote a positive, outfitters‑centric culture focused on development and provide timely, honest feedback and coaching.
Compliance and Analytics
  • Design and execute strategies to meet key CLUB metrics; review and analyze daily reports.
  • Partner with the General Manager to develop and lead corrective action plans for improving missed metrics.
  • Execute all CLUB operational and compliance programs, including training, communication, account servicing, marketing, and payments.
  • Lead the instant issuance process, training others on inventory management procedures.
  • Handle all additional duties as assigned to support the store based on business needs.
Experience / Qualifications
  • Minimum Degree

    Required:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Years of experience: 2 to 4+ years in sales, management, or leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, & Ability
  • Calculate figures such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Interpret financial, legal, and technical information.
  • Read and analyze reports; write reports and business correspondence.
  • Present information and respond to questions from managers, associates, customers, and the public.
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to groups.
  • Proficiency with PC‑based word processing, spreadsheets, data management, and electronic POS and inventory systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated use of the TEAM concept of management.
Travel Requirements
  • As needed for training and CLUB off‑site events.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular communication with others to exchange information.
  • Regular computer work, walking, and standing.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and working in outdoor elements, hot and cold temperatures, and noisy environments.

  • Develop objectives, policies, and procedures for a specific program or functional area. Day‑to‑day work and decisions are made independently, with results reviewed by a supervisor.
