The Technical Writer is responsible for developing and maintaining product-related documentation such as but not limited to:
User Guides, Release Notes, Quick Reference Cards, and Online Help. Other deliverables may include developing online content for tooltips, in-app guided walkthroughs or other user engagement content as needed.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong attention to detail and is comfortable working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success/Support and Sales teams to understand customer needs and gain a deep knowledge of the products supported. This person must be highly professional, organized, and able to work on multiple projects at once under tight deadlines in a fast-moving Agile software development environment.

What You Will Do:
  • Develop high-quality technical and end-user documentation focused on driving customer success and enablement, as well as increase overall product adoption
  • Work in fast-paced agile environment with both onshore and offshore teams, various schedules, and frequent release cycles
  • Translate complex product information into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand content for both technical and non-technical users
  • Capture and incorporate screen shots and graphics into documentation for enhanced usability
  • Partner closely with engineering and product management teams to gain a deep understanding of products supported; including learning about target audiences to ensure the best user experience is delivered
  • Act as the first user to test new features and functionality; ability to analyze, understand and advocate for the needs and expectations of target audiences
  • Own the document review process to gather feedback and incorporate changes as needed
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a relevant field
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing both technical and end-user documentation, with a minimum of 3 years of strong instructional design experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Self-starter, comfortable asking questions, as well as, working independently or with a team
  • Solid working knowledge of content development practices
  • Understanding of software concepts and the SDLC (software development lifecycle)
  • A team player, and self-motivated quick learner, ready to explore new technologies and solutions
  • Proficient at working with the following tools:
    • Microsoft Office 365:
      Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
    • Online Help Authoring:
      Adobe Robo Help, Madcap Flare, or other
    • Screenshot and Video Capture:
      Tech Smith Snag It, Adobe Photoshop, or other
  • Preferred experience working with the following tools:
    • Agile Software Development Tools: ADO (Azure Dev Ops), JIRA, or other
    • eLearning Development:
      Adobe Captivate, Tech Smith Camtasia, Articulate Storyline or other
    • In-App Content Development:
      Gainsight PX, Walk Me, or other user engagement tool
Reporting Relationships:

Reports to Sr. Product Owner or Above
