Overview

Position Summary The Manager of Behavioral Therapy Services provides strategic and clinical leadership for behavior analytic services. This includes direct patient care, oversight of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and compliance with Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) standards. The Manager fosters a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Manager fosters a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Service: Consistently supports and communicates the Mission, Vision, and Values of Nexus Health Systems; upholds standards of conduct and corporate compliance; demonstrates honest behavior; complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations; maintains privacy and security of confidential health information; adheres to HIPAA policies; collaborates with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery; implements system strategic plan and advises on service development for behavioral health programs;

    represents behavioral services in executive leadership forums and cross-functional initiatives; promotes ethical leadership, transparency, and service excellence across teams.
  • Clinical Excellence: Deliver direct patient care using evidence-based ABA practices, including FBAs and BIPs; maintain a clinical caseload; participate in Multidisciplinary Treatment Planning meetings; apply BACB Ethical Code; develop behavioral programming aligned with system goals; forecast staffing needs and optimize clinical workforce deployment; oversee policies and procedures; integrate clinical documentation and data systems; collaborate with other departments for coordinated care; direct behavioral crisis response and incident management;

    prepare strategic reports and present insights to senior leadership; provide supervision to the behavioral therapy department; provide structured, competency-based supervision to RBTs per BACB supervision requirements, including direct observation, feedback, and modeling; maintain documentation of supervision activities as required by BACB; conduct regular performance evaluations and support RBTs in professional development and ethical practice; ensure RBTs operate within their scope and receive ongoing training aligned with client needs and organizational goals.
  • Patient Experience and Advocacy: Ensure interventions are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centered; advocate for patient rights and dignity; establish feedback loops with patients and families to inform improvements; deliver parent/guardian education consistently throughout stay and at discharge to ensure continuity of care.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure activities adhere to healthcare regulations and policies; participate in quality improvement initiatives; promote patient safety and reduce unsafe practices; ensure BACB supervision requirements, including training and documentation; lead audits, incident reviews, and continuous quality improvement; monitor clinical outcomes and adjust programs based on data and stakeholder feedback; maintain documentation and reporting per BACB, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
  • Professional Growth and Continuing

    Education:

    Complete annual education requirements; maintain competency via competency validation; stay current with standards of practice, trends, and developments; participate in workshops and continuing education; provide structured supervision and mentorship for RBTs, BCaBAs, and BCBAs in training per BACB guidelines; develop and implement training programs aligned with BACB curricula; foster learning that supports certification, licensure, and leadership development.
