The Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and controlling all financial activities and ensuring that they are performed in accordance with company policies.
Responsibilities- Manage day‑to‑day financial activities including inventory, fixed assets and inter‑company transactions.
- Oversee all financial reporting, including month‑end closing procedures and journal entries (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Prepare departmental budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Handle accounts payable tasks such as invoice entry, cash requirements, and check preparation.
- Calculate monthly revenue recognitions and adhere to IFRS 15 contract regulations.
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and cash collection.
- Complete monthly account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain accounting system documentation.
- Work with project/department managers to review project/department costs and present findings to management.
- Assist with reviewing contracts and proposals for cash flow and financial terms.
- Participate in project meetings, bids and proposals as required.
- Prepare federal and state return work papers for external accounting firms.
- Develop audit schedules, interfaces, and perform tax analyses to ensure compliance with state and federal registration and reporting requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Advanced degree in business, economics, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in accounting and/or financial reporting.
- Experience with IFRS 15, over‑time revenue recognition, and percent‑complete accounting.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
- Strong communication skills for responding to inquiries and complaints from vendors, regulatory agencies, and management.
- Fundamental accounting knowledge and general business acumen.
- Primarily office work performed on a computer.
- Occasional walking and presence on the manufacturing floor.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- On‑site presence required.
- Limited travel for off‑site personnel and business projects.
- Employment involves 10% outdoors and 90% indoors in a smoke‑free office and manufacturing facility.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and must comply with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy, including random drug testing, and will be subject to background checks.
