Overview
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems and components to required specifications, focusing on medium and high voltage systems. The role includes designing switch gear, implementing electrical standards, supporting electrical upgrades, developing relay protection, conducting arch flash studies, and ensuring seamless communication with PLC/SCADA systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a deep understanding of medium and high voltage systems and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and troubleshoot electrical control systems for medium and high voltage applications.
- Design switch gear and other electrical components for optimal performance and efficiency.
- Implement and maintain electrical standards and practices to ensure consistency and quality.
- Support electrical upgrades and modifications to existing systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Conduct arch flash studies to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with PLC/SCADA systems for seamless operation.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical engineering matters to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations in all electrical engineering activities.
- Strong knowledge of switch gear design, relay logic, electrical equipment protection, arc flash studies, and implementation of electrical standards.
- Experience working with PLC/SCADA systems and integrating them into electrical control systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations, including NFPA 70E and IEEE standards.
