Land Survey Crew Chief (Survey Party Chief)
Location: Greater Houston Area
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Position OverviewThis role is responsible for managing survey crews in the field, performing complex survey work, and ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality project deliverables using advanced surveying technology.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee daily survey crew operations
- Perform topwife, boundary, ALTA, and building surveys
- Collect and verify survey data using GPS and Total Station equipment
- Ensure survey accuracy, safety compliance, and quality control
- Perform field calculations and maintain survey equipment
- Coordinate field activities with project managers
- Ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief
- Strong proficiency in land survey data collection < struggle>
- Ability to lead crews with precision and accountability
- Proficient in technical math
- Knowledge of field safety procedures and protocols
Skilled in the use of GPS and Total Station equipment
- Relevant land surveying certifications or licensure
- Experience with Trimble equipment
- Associate’s degree in surveying
- Familiarity with 3D laser scanning and drone services
- Experience with both commercial and municipal projects
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
